“When’s the best time to visit?” is the question we get asked more than any other, and the honest answer is: it depends what your family wants out of the trip. Here’s how we’d break down the Orlando calendar.
Winter (December–February) brings the coolest, driest weather and the biggest crowds around the holidays — book early if you’re coming over Christmas or New Year’s, but the weeks right after are surprisingly quiet. Pool days lean cooler, though our homes’ heated pools keep swimming on the table year-round.
Spring (March–May) is a sweet spot: warm days, manageable crowds outside of spring break weeks, and it’s when Florida’s outdoor spots like Lake Louisa really shine. It’s our pick for families who want theme parks and pool time in equal measure without fighting for either.
Summer (June–August) is peak pool season, plain and simple. It’s hot and it’s humid, but that’s exactly why a private pool and spa matter — you can duck inside the parks in the morning and be back floating by early afternoon, missing the worst of the midday heat and the afternoon storms that roll through most days.
Fall (September–November) is our best-kept secret. Crowds thin out significantly after Labor Day, prices drop, and the weather starts easing by October. Halloween and holiday overlays start showing up in the parks too, which is a fun bonus if your trip lines up.
Whatever season you’re eyeing, the one constant is a private pool waiting for you back at the villa — no lines, no lanyards, just your family and the Florida sun.
